How the estimate works
Each option maps to a costed product in our dataset, and the calculator renders that product's installed range — equipment plus labor, per the unit definition shown with the result. The pan, door and removal toggles add those items' own bands on top rather than folding them into the base figure. Nothing is scaled, inflated, or invented: when a row is single-publisher or lower confidence, the flag travels with it.
The tile and waterproofing-membrane rows are priced per square foot ($6–$32/sq ft and $1–$4/sq ft), so they are not added as a flat line — multiply by your tiled area.
What these national bands can't do: price your local labor market, quote a permit in your jurisdiction, or predict hidden substrate damage found after tear-out. Get local written quotes before budgeting.
