Concrete Driveway Cost Calculator

A concrete driveway estimate is a per-square-foot band × area, plus the finish and the add-ons that make a job a job: rebar, sealing, and tear-out of the old surface. Every rate this calculator uses comes from a cited dataset row, and the result is a band, not a quote.

The bands, the size/thickness/finish tables, and the concrete-vs-asphalt comparison: the concrete driveway cost guide.

Estimated installed cost

$4,344 – $6,044

$9.86–$12.11/sqft × 400 sqft + rebar $1–$3/sqft.

Size examples (read-only): 10×20 ft → $800–$1,600; 20×20 ft → $1,600–$8,000.

Concrete vs asphalt: asphalt runs $7–$15/sqft — shown for context, never added to the concrete total. A 6 in slab uses ~1.5× the concrete of a 4 in slab (bought at $125–$150/cu yd); the dataset publishes no per-thickness dollar band, so none is shown here.

Estimate from cited national bands — get local written quotes. Bands are per-source, never averaged. Homewyse's basic-pour band moved ~+2.8% between its May ($9.59–$11.78) and September ($9.86–$12.11) calculators — both recorded; this calculator uses the September figures and says so.

How this calculator works

The per-sq-ft band comes straight from the dataset row for the finish you pick — low / typical / high, never a single invented midpoint. Multiply by your area; add the toggles (rebar $1–$3/sqft, sealing $0.5–$2.5/sqft, tear-out $2–$6/sqft) — the job band is the sum.

The basic-pour band is $9.86–$12.11/sqft (Homewyse, Sept 2026), and the whole-job band runs $4–$15/sqft. Where the dataset carries flags, they render.

Honest limits

The bands are national; regional labor and material rates move them. The removal/demo row is single-source this pass — carried as a flag, not smoothed. There is no per-thickness dollar band in the dataset: concrete is priced by the cubic yard and per square foot, so thickness is stated as the volume relationship, never invented as a rate.
