Pick the drive type you're installing. The result combines the dataset's unit band with installation labor, and shows accessories and removal separately — with confidence flags carried through.
Unit band for this drive: $160–$300–$600 (per opener unit (materials)).
Estimated cost
$220–$372–$685
low · typical · high. per opener unit (materials). Includes: labor. Drive-type rows are unit (materials); the overall row is installed — units kept distinct.
Door-height pricing (7/8/10 ft) is not published by our sources — weight and horsepower drive the choice, so no height band is shown.
No quality flags on this row.
How the estimate works
Each drive type maps to a costed product in our dataset, and the calculator combines that product's unit band with the labor band (and any accessories or removal you add) — the dataset's own figures, not a model. Drive-type rows are unit (materials); the overall row is installed, so the units stay labelled and are never composed.
Two honest limits: door height is not priced by the published sources (weight and horsepower drive the unit choice, not 7/8/10 ft), and a new electrical circuit adds $40–$120/hr of electrician time when there is no ceiling power — neither is folded into the band.
Read the opener installation cost guide for the drive-type table, horsepower sizing, labor and accessories, and FAQs.

Estimate only — get local written quotes. Figures are national bands from public cost guides (Thumbtack, HomeAdvisor, Networx, Bob Vila) as of October 2026, not verified contractor pricing. Drive-type and horsepower rows are partly single-publisher; door-height pricing is not published and is not invented; per-source bands are kept separate, never averaged.
