Pest & Termite Cost Calculator
Updated October 2026
Pick the job — a pest-control treatment or a termite treatment — and the calculator returns the band from the cited dataset rows. The one rule that matters: pest control is priced on two different bases — a one-time visit and an annual contract — and this calculator shows them separately. A $100–$600 one-time visit is not the same job as a $300–$900/year plan, and a monthly $40–$70 charge is a per-visit price inside a contract, not a per-year cost. Blending them is how quotes get confusing; here each is labeled.
Estimate: $100 – $600 — from cited national bands, not a quote
Basis: one-time treatment (a single visit — inspection + treatment + follow-up)
Per-source: HomeAdvisor $300–$550 · Fixr $158–$288 · Today's Homeowner $100–$600. Typical visit on the overall band is $108–$261 (avg $172).
Per-treatment and per-year are different scopes — compare like with like. Bands are cited per source and shown separately; no averaged number. Actual cost varies by pest, home, severity, and region — get local written quotes.
The two billing bases (shown separately by design)
- One-time treatment — $100–$600. Basis: a single visit.
- Annual contract — $300–$900/year. Basis: one year of recurring service.
- Per-visit by cadence — monthly $40–$70 · quarterly $100–$300. Basis: per scheduled visit, not per year.
A $$300–$900/year plan is not comparable to a $100–$600 one-time visit. Ask a quote which basis it's on before you compare. No treatment carries a guaranteed permanent elimination — a legitimate quote is a treatment plan plus a warranty.
What the quote should name
- The billing basis — one-time visit or annual contract (pest); per-linear-foot, per-treatment, or per-year monitoring (termite).
- Frequency/cadence — monthly, quarterly, or annual; what triggers a free re-treatment.
- The initial fee vs the recurring charge — don't compare a first-visit price to a per-visit rate.
- Retreatment warranty / bond terms — itemized, not bundled.
- Add-ons separately — cleanup, structural repair ($600–$3,000+), wildlife removal, WDIR inspection.
- No elimination guarantee — demand the plan and the warranty in writing.
How often should service recur? That depends on your situation — see the treatment-vs-contract section. [GATED on a pest context-facts card]. Sources: five live neutral publishers — termite overall bands from HomeAdvisor and Thumbtack agree on the typical range; method rows are per-linear-foot (HA/Fixr). Angi not cited (walled, no snapshot). Lead slot: named pest vertical (marked placeholder, no live link, no PII until the vertical is approved).
How to read the estimate
- Band, not a quote. Each result is a national band from cited publishers, not a bid for your property — all bands are national averages, not a metro quote.
- Basis travels with the number. Every figure prints with its basis — per treatment, per visit, per year, or per linear foot — never as a bare number.
- Per-source, never averaged. One-time, annual, and per-visit rows are kept per publisher; termite overall bands from HomeAdvisor and Thumbtack agree on the typical range, method rows come per-linear-foot from HA/Fixr.
- Where it stops. Species/severity calls, chemical specifics, and the monitoring-cadence answer are deliberately out of scope — those facts need the separate pest context-facts card and are not invented here. No treatment carries a guaranteed permanent elimination.
